- 💡 Description
- Young people develop digital, green and interpersonal skills through debate, film screenings, team-building, informative sessions and hands-on experiences.\n\"Based on the concept we propose, ALE - Awareness, Learning, Exploration, the activities we will carry out are divided into the 3 categories.\n\nIn the Awareness stage we will carry out debate activities, art film screenings and use the Forum Theatre method to better understand the issues caused by the just transition, the impact of using non-renewable resources on the environment and the benefits of the circular economy, carbon footprint reduction and the use of green alternatives in general. Furthermore, we will focus on teambuilding and knowledge activities, support the development of soft skills among participants and support diversity and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in the activities, as well as those from ethnic minorities or with disabilities.\n\nIn the second phase, we will find out which topics the participants want to learn more about and gradually expose them to different information, based on a transdisciplinary approach. We will have guest experts at the learning sessions, but we will also make use of online courses and materials. As they learn about the topics they are interested in, they will develop 5 main skills: language skills through English classes, digital skills through online activities, green skills through recycling resources used in activities and supporting the adoption of these habbits in everyday life, argumentation and public speaking skills through the use of debates as a means of learning, and intrapersonal skills through sharing in focus groups. Furthermore, we will have a graffiti in the street art festival organised in Scotland aimed at the environment and a sports championship promoting movement.\n\nIn the third phase, we will ensure the sustainability of the project by creating mixed teams to work for 3 months on a joint project. They will identify a problem in the community, validate it by interacting with other people and implement a solution to help solve the problem, starting with lobbying and advocacy campaigns. At the end of the programme, we will measure its impact, exchange best practices with young people from organisations fighting for common causes and support young people in developing their individual skills. We will also talk to decision-makers to see how we can implement the solutions proposed by young people at community level.\"
