#EUTEENS4GREEN Awarded Beneficiaries
Green Button Journey for Youth in Just Transition Areas
- 💡 Description
- Green Button Journey is a project with which we want to encourage young people to think green and engage in green activities. These activities are small tasks offered by our application. The project was started by Ana Neja Pfeifer and Hana Leben. With the help of programmers, they have implemented the Green Button Journey mobile application and a website. Later Klemen Kavčič and Primož Dornik joined, and the app was also updated, to become more user-friendly and easier to use. The main features of the app are OER articles and green tasks. With the OER articles, they help young people gain knowledge about environmental sustainability. After reading an article, users can test their knowledge on quizzes that have also been implemented in the application. The other application's main feature, green tasks, are small tasks that the user does to help the environment, lower his CO2 footprint, and earn green points in the app. The app also contains other features, such as social profiles, a search bar, a leader board and the Green Button Map that make the app more user-friendly, fun and easy to use. By presenting the project at OE4BW EDUSCOPE 2021 and EDUSCOPE 2022 symposiums, at their schools, on the 30th anniversary of UNESCO in Slovenia and at two companies, they have reached more than 250 app users. Sharing their app with more young people is our next goal. With new app-content-creating workshops, they will present and share the project with as many youths as possible. Workshops are events that start with a short project presentation and continue with work in teams of participants to create new green tasks. They also use an active Instagram account to spread the idea through social networks."
