- The Green Youth Movement wants to engage young people in the green transition through education and workshops. We hope to create a community and inspire young people to turn their feelings into action.\n\"In the Green Youth Movement (Den Grønne UngdomsbevĂŚgelse) in Aalborg, the north of Denmark, we want to engage young people in our region in the green transition by creating a sustainable green network and community. Today we are a smaller active group of people where the majority is 16 â 23 years old. We wish to expand and strengthen the engagement of young people and have a better inclusion of minorities. Therefore, we wish to create events during 2023 that will both educate and activate the participants so more will be able to take action in the climate- and biodiversity crisis. We wish to create workshops and events with talks that attracts a diverse group of young people.\nWe will mainly approach the education by arranging talks, where prominent young voices in the climate debate and experts will talk/debate about climate and how we should and can change things. Overall, the events should show the complexity of the climate crisis but also how to be active in the green transition no matter your interests and earlier experience. The main goal is to show, that the green transition needs everybody no matter study-area to take action and to make the young people more confident in their knowledge. We want to spark the climate debate in our region, as itâs currently not very active and therefore itâs difficult for young people to participate in it and have a saying. \nThrough workshops we wish to engage people more directly. Here the participants will get involved in actions like starting up a local campaign, writing articles to newspapers, creating informative videos, contacting politicians with proposals and wishes about the green urban planning, etc. Overall, the activities will contribute to have young voices speaking up, pushing for a green change and taking ownership of the transition in the region. We wish to create a safe and inspiring space where everybody feels included. The aim is that the participants will get involved in a working-group that will continue after the workshop and work on with elaborating the green transition in the region. In that way they will be trained to create a change in the society. A success criterion is that the participants turn their frustration or fear for the future into actions and experience being part of a community with likeminded.\nThe Green Youth Movement will be the host for all the events and will have a âfacilitatingâ role at the events. \"

- đą Expected Results
- \"Throughout the project, we will arrange two full-day educational workshops, as well as 3 talks, and an educational movie night. We expect around 20-40 participants at the workshops, and 30-100 participants at the talks.\nThe project will lay ground for a more active young climate-movement in this region by providing knowledge and know-how. This way, more young people will be empowered to create events and be involved in the democratic climate-debate, thereby being able to affect politicians and other citizens. We expect that the project will expand our green community hopefully resulting in more green events arranged by young people in the city. More young people will have the guts to speak their mind and see that their voice is important. Itâs important that the events are driven by young people and that we take ownership of how society is evolving by speaking up about the future we want.\nRegarding growth of The Green Youth Movement Aalborg, we expect an increase in the number of participants who attend our meetings every other Tuesday, as well as the number of people participating in and coming to our events. Usually, there are fewer people at our meetings compared to how many volunteers show up at our events â we expect the discrepancy to remain, though we expect more participants at both the meetings and the events.\nWe expect an increase of followers on our social media platforms. \nWe expect to be able to get more events and articles published in newspapers. The more we are, the more (and larger) events we can create. Therefore, if we see a boost in our green community, it will boost the events. Furthermore, we do write articles to newspapers that they always publish, and we expect to be able to send even more as our movement grows. \nWe also expect that the places we do the events will want to collaborate again in the future after this project and that they might also want to do something similar on their own. We hope that parts of the project could be an annually thing.\"
