In that way, the participants will be able to create an open and living digital “book” about Kozani’s transition, which will be their turning point to actively participate in the green transition process, as well as an accessible archive for future generations to “visit”. Points of Reflection that will be the axis of our live sessions: a.How do the inhabitants deal with the cessation of coal mining? How does this decision affect the social and economic sphere of Kozani? b.How has everyday life in Kozani evolved due to the lignite activities? Is it comparable with another city in transition? Are there any good practices to adopt and exchange? How can young people work towards this goal? c. How are the available funds going to be used and absorbed by the local community and its people’s activities? Are there any job opportunities for young people? d.What can we do, as young people, to improve our everyday life by protecting the environment and how can we actively participate in the green transition?\nThe main structure of our activities is summarized in a series of 6 interactive Living Library Sessions-Talks Discussions about Kozani’s Just Transition. The proposed structure of the six sessions of our “living library” goes as described below, in the forms of Chapters of a Book: Chapter 1 - “Wrap up session”. In this session, experts are going to provide the participants with a comprehensive and multifaceted update on the Just Transition process in Kozani. There will als be QA sessions, as well as active presentations by the young people, who want to be involved in the research of any specific area of the topic, in the form of an open space. Chapter 2 - “Living in Kozani of mines and lignite.” In this chapter, people from any social or professional background related to lignite activities are going to share their story. They will present Kozani’s evolution through the years, as well as its urban development. Chapter 3 - Why “GreenTransition?” In this session, the speakers, who will be people from the local, national or european political sphere, will present their points of view concerning green transition, and its institutional aspects, in order to highlight green transition’s scope and importance, as well as its impact in Kozani. Chapter 4 - “The implementation of Just Transition in Kozani”. This session will be linked with the previous one, and will be the next level of building the participant’s knowledge about the impact of just transition in their everyday lives. In this session, experts will host workshops about the implementation process of Just Transition and its aspects. Chapter 5 - “Green Transition - The key to thrive: Job Opportunities - Ideas, Skills and Future Plans.” In this session, there will be an open space for the affiliated stakeholders of Just Transition to provide the participants with knowledge and/or any information about opportunities related to their personal and professional development in order for them to stay in Kozani and be part of its further green development. Chapter 6 - Kozani of 2050 through its youth's perspective and vision. In this session, the participants will harvest the previous knowledge and interactive experience, and will create the Roadmap of Kozani in 2050. What are our expectations about the green, sustainable and developed city of Kozani? What are our ideas about our green future and do we have a “universal declaration for the day ahead?”\n\n\"
- 🎯 Target Group
- 🌱 Expected Results
- \"Young people (16-30) who live/study in the city/region of Kozani, Western Macedonia\n\n\nExpected number of participants: 100-150\n\nThe community of Kozani will benefit from the implementation of the project in a multidimensional way.
