- 💡 Description
- “Green mind” is a 12-month project that aims, in particular, to mobilise and involve youth to take action on their habits and quality of life.\n\"The idea for this project stems from our deep conviction that the voice of young people aged between 14 and 24 at the local level, if heard and asserted, can be the basis for a real and concrete change. In this sense, the main objective of the project is to involve young people from the community of A Coruña and give them the opportunity to concretely propose possible solutions to combat climate change.\n\n\n “Green mind” is a 12-month project that aims, in particular, to mobilise and involve youth to take action on their habits and quality of life, addressing issues such as healthy eating, green mobility and sustainable consumption. It will also offer digital resources and the opportunity for young people to design and participate in all the activities of this green transition that will help them to improve their habits and, at the same time, have a positive impact on the local community at large.\n\n\nIn 2021 A Coruña was ranked among the most polluted cities in Spain, according to a study conducted by the Observatory of Sustainability, the city has the worst air quality due to the accumulation of PM10 polluting particles, due to its industrialisation.\n\n\nTaking into account the above, we will use non-formal techniques and methodologies as a means of communication to encourage young people to live a more environmentally conscious lifestyle and help them to take different measures on their way of living by means of simple and easy to use digital tools, among them.\n\n\n We intend that young people should first understand the environmental problems in their area, with this objective in fact, young participants will have to research the main factors of pollution in the city where they live, in order to propose simple solutions to improve their habits. Then, in an online webinar, they will have the opportunity to exchange best practices among themselves, presenting the results of their research and proposing solutions. Finally, this information will be used to create and disseminate a mobile application.\n\n\nOur project ensures that the proposed activities are not limited to educating young minds only on a theoretical level, but are turned into daily activities. Unfortunately, dealing with sustainability issues at school in a context that is often aseptic for young people, perhaps too formal, does not stimulate them enough to gain confidence in their spirit of initiative and creativity.\n

Our desired impact is the following: \n\nParticipants: \n-create a more empathic community of young people;\n-encouragement to a more critical thinking;\n-encourage problem solving skills;\n-better future laboral opportunities;\n-raise awareness about the Territorial Just Transition Plans and social and economic impacts of the low-carbon transition and other activities.\n\nParticipating schools: \n-creating a network of educational institutions;\n-experience in european projects; \n-improvement of the soft skills such as (communication, time management, teamwork, organizational skills, administration skills, empathy, stress management and managing the deadlines);\n-better technological skills (by using digital tools);\n-promote the European values;\n-presence on social media platforms, creating content and with that increasing visibility of their organization and our project;\n-gaining experience.\n\nStaff:\n-be part of a network;\n-cooperate in the development of a project;\n-spread the net of connections with other schools;\n-be known by other institutions;\n-improvement of the soft skills such as (communication, time management, teamwork, organizational skills, administration skills, empathy, stress management and managing the deadlines).\n\n\nTarget group:\n-learning new skills such as critical thinking/problem solving and learn how young people face the different problems linked to various topics;\n-take inspiration from policy makers;\n-be more active in social society;\n-be part of a solidarity community of young people.\n
