#EUTEENS4GREEN Awarded Beneficiaries
Youth ready to take action for Just Transition
- 💡 Description
- This project brings together youth concerned about the Just Transition of coal regions and climate justice to network and educate each other and to strengthen ourselves for efforts around the challenges of their regions. 'Youth ready to take action for Just Transition' aims to tackle several problems connected with just transition. The first one is the low participation of young people in processes around Just Transition due to the official's inability to take us into account. Thus they want to strengthen their own ability to make our voices heard, to deliver a just, sustainable and livable future for our regions and to be able to mobilize and involve youth concerned about climate justice from across the whole country in the solution of their challenges. To fulfil these ambitious goals, they plan to organise training which will bring together 25 young people, experienced grassroots trainers and adults with experience and knowledge around delivering just transition. In 5 days, they will discuss what future of our regions they want, share out existing skills, get inspiration from other ongoing projects and efforts and network with each other for a joyful future for our communities. After the training, they will evaluate with the educators on this unique experience the EUT4G program gives them to be able to work around strengthening youth capacities in the future even more and better. After the project, they aim to continue nurturing and growing what has been sowed during the training and use the emerging relations and ideas to make the transition truly just.
